MESA VERDE — Adrianna Jaimez is establishing herself as a young leader at quarterback for Mesa Verde High School.
The Class of 2029 quarterback has already earned a leadership role as a varsity captain, taking on the responsibility of directing the offense while continuing to develop at one of football’s most demanding positions.
Jaimez has shown her ability to impact games both through the air and on the ground. In one of her best performances this season, she threw for 200 yards and four touchdowns while adding another rushing touchdown, accounting for five total scores.
For Jaimez, however, her focus extends beyond individual numbers. She approaches the position with an emphasis on continued development, working to improve her throwing mechanics, ability to read defenses, movement in the pocket and leadership on the field.
Her competitive mindset has become one of the driving forces behind that progression.
“I’m motivated by always wanting to get better,” Jaimez said. “I’m competitive, coachable, and focused on improving.”
As girls flag football continues to create opportunities for athletes at the high school and collegiate levels, Jaimez has set her sights on taking her game beyond Mesa Verde. Her long-term goal is to earn an opportunity to play college flag football.
Still early in her high school career, Jaimez is focused on making the most of each season, developing as a quarterback and continuing to grow into her role as a leader.
With three more high school seasons ahead of her, the Mesa Verde captain is excited to see just how far the game can take her.
