At 6-foot-3 and 170 pounds, Class of 2028 athlete brings versatility at wide receiver and defensive back while continuing to develop as a player and young man.
For Ahmir Laster, success at Destiny Christian Academy is about more than what happens between the lines.
The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Class of 2028 standout is developing into a versatile piece for the Lions, contributing as an athlete, wide receiver and defensive back. As his role continues to grow, Laster is focused on becoming the type of player his teammates and coaches can depend on when the stakes are highest.
One of his biggest goals is earning that trust.
Laster wants the ball and the responsibility when a game hangs in the balance. But his ambitions extend beyond individual opportunities. He wants to help Destiny Christian Academy make a deep run this season, capture a section championship and continue strengthening the team’s faith along the way.
That combination of competition and personal growth has become an important part of Laster’s approach.
Family, friends and coaches remain among his greatest sources of motivation. Laster credits the people around him with challenging him to improve every day, both as an athlete and as a young man. Their support has helped shape the standards he carries onto the field and the person he hopes to become away from it.
For a player still early in his high school career, Laster already understands the importance of earning responsibility rather than simply expecting it.
With multiple seasons still ahead of him, the Class of 2028 athlete is working toward becoming a player Destiny Christian Academy can trust when the game is on the line while pursuing something even larger alongside his teammates: growth in faith, a deep postseason run and a section championship.
