For Natomas High School point guard Alfred Wilkins, the goals extend well beyond individual success.
The Class of 2027 standout has already experienced championship success, helping Natomas capture a section title. Now, Wilkins is focused on building upon that accomplishment while continuing to develop as a player and leader.
One of his biggest individual goals is reaching 1,000 career points, a milestone that would represent the work he has put into his game throughout his high school career. But Wilkins’ ambitions are centered on more than personal numbers.
His ultimate goal is to help Natomas make another deep postseason run and compete for a state championship.
Having already experienced what it takes to win a section title, Wilkins understands the level of commitment required to compete for championships. As a point guard, he wants to continue becoming a player his teammates can rely on while helping put Natomas in position to succeed when the stakes are highest.
Beyond high school, Wilkins hopes basketball remains an important part of his future. He wants to continue playing at the next level and use the remainder of his high school career to prepare himself for that opportunity.
Behind those ambitions are two constants in Wilkins’ life: his family and his faith in God.
His family provides the support and motivation that push him to improve, while his faith remains an important foundation throughout his journey. Both continue to shape the way Wilkins approaches basketball and the goals he has set for himself.
With a section championship already on his résumé, Wilkins is focused on what comes next — reaching 1,000 career points, pursuing a state championship and earning the opportunity to continue his basketball career beyond Natomas.
