Aniyah Fayne is bringing power, versatility and determination to Christian Brothers High School. The Class of 2029 outside hitter earned a varsity starting spot as a sophomore and takes pride in being a player her teammates can count on in all six rotations.
Through 73 sets this season, Fayne has recorded 132 kills, ranking fourth on the team, along with 23 aces, 82 digs and eight blocks. Her 90.1% serving percentage adds another contribution to an all-around game she continues to develop.
At 5-foot-8, Fayne knows what it feels like to be overlooked because of her height. She channels that experience into her preparation, showing up for 6 a.m. practices and putting in extra training after school. For her, every session is an opportunity to become stronger, more consistent and more dependable.
“I want younger players who are told they’re too small to see that heart and work ethic can take you anywhere,” Fayne said.
Her foundation in volleyball began at age 10. Since age 11, she has earned a spot on a national club team every season. That journey will continue in December with Epic Volleyball Club’s national team during the club’s inaugural season. Along the way, she has also been recognized as a Prep Dig Top Performer.
Fayne’s ambitions extend to Division I volleyball, ideally at a historically Black college or university. As she works toward that goal, she remains focused on improving every part of her game and bringing encouragement to the players around her. Being a powerful hitter matters to her, but so does staying ready and helping teammates feel supported.
Away from volleyball, Fayne maintains a 3.7 GPA and enjoys video games, anime, music and time with friends and family.
With a starting role at Christian Brothers and another club season ahead, Fayne is building toward her goals through the habits she values most: working hard, staying prepared and showing up for her team.
