Cole Welcher has spent much of his football journey feeling like he has something to prove, and the Granite Bay High School quarterback has turned that experience into motivation to keep improving.
A member of the Class of 2028, Welcher has his sights set on eventually playing college football. Reaching that level remains a major goal, but his focus is on the daily work required to give himself that opportunity.
Welcher describes himself as a grinder, constantly looking for ways to improve his game regardless of the circumstances. That mentality has been shaped by frequently feeling overlooked and finding himself behind others throughout his journey.
Instead of allowing those experiences to discourage him, Welcher has used them as fuel. Each practice, workout and opportunity represents another chance to develop and prove what he is capable of.
As a quarterback, Welcher understands the importance of continued growth, preparation and leadership. With several years of high school football still ahead of him, he is focused on becoming a more complete player and putting himself in position to compete at the next level.
Driven by the experience of being overlooked and a determination to never stop improving, Welcher is looking to make the most of every opportunity at Granite Bay.
