Elise Vipond is stepping into a new chapter of her basketball career with a strong foundation, big goals and a clear commitment to continued growth.
The Class of 2029 point guard transferred to Oak Ridge High School after spending her freshman season at St. Francis High School, where she competed at the varsity level. During that season, Vipond shot 40 percent from three-point range and was recognized with the Coach’s Award for her contributions to the team.
Now entering her sophomore year at Oak Ridge, Vipond is focused on continuing to develop while working toward one of her biggest long-term goals: playing Division I college basketball.
What has made the transition especially exciting for Vipond is the environment around her. She believes Oak Ridge has a group of teammates who share the same passion for basketball and the same desire to improve. With strong chemistry on and off the court, along with a coach she describes as passionate and driven, Vipond is eager to see what the team can accomplish together.
Her motivation comes from several places, but at the center of it is a genuine love for the game. Vipond’s competitive nature and desire to become the best version of herself push her to keep improving as both a player and a teammate.
Her little brother also plays an important role in that motivation. The two share a deep connection through basketball, often shooting, training and challenging one another while also supporting each other’s goals.
For Vipond, the journey is about more than individual accomplishments. It is about steady improvement, strong relationships and making the most of every opportunity along the way.
As she begins her first season at Oak Ridge, Vipond is looking to build on her early varsity experience and take another step toward the goals she has set for herself
