Erik Tenns Jr. wasted little time making an impact after his move to varsity. The Destiny Christian Academy freshman defensive end recorded four tackles, one tackle for loss and a fumble recovery in his first varsity game, delivering an encouraging start against older competition.
A member of the Class of 2030, Tenns is getting an early opportunity to develop at the varsity level. His debut gave him something to build on, with contributions that included stopping a play behind the line of scrimmage and recovering a loose football.
He joins a Destiny Christian team that continues to build momentum. The unbeaten Lions followed a 40–20 road victory over Antelope with a narrow 28–27 win against Grant on October 16, showing they can finish on top in a tight contest.
Football is only part of Tenns’ athletic experience. He also plays basketball for Destiny Christian, competing at center and power forward. Both sports give him opportunities to develop his physicality, compete and contribute to his school’s athletic programs.
Away from competition, Tenns places a strong emphasis on his education. His goals are to work hard at Destiny Christian, prepare for college and build a foundation for his future. He believes the discipline he develops in the classroom and on the football field will help him succeed beyond sports.
His high school career is still beginning, but Tenns already has a memorable varsity debut behind him. Now, his focus is on continuing to improve while pursuing his goals on the field and in the classroom.
