Monterey Trail sophomore Ezira Hawkins is putting together a productive flag football season on both sides of the ball. With more than 600 total offensive yards and 135 solo flag pulls, the Class of 2029 athlete brings versatility backed by results.
Hawkins plays wide receiver on offense and handles multiple defensive assignments, including linebacker and rusher. Those responsibilities demand different skills, from creating opportunities in the passing game to closing space and finishing plays defensively.
The defensive numbers stand out. Hawkins ranks among the top five Division 1 flag pullers in the Sac-Joaquin Section, with 135 solo pulls highlighting a substantial contribution to Monterey Trail’s defense. Paired with the offensive yardage, that production gives Hawkins an impact that extends across possessions.
Hawkins also trains at Gamefit, putting in work beyond school competition. As a sophomore contributing in several roles, Hawkins is building a name at Monterey Trail through production on both sides of the field.
