SACRAMENTO — Christian Brothers High School standout George “Pop” Gadison Jr. has entered the 2026 season determined to make an impact far beyond the stat sheet.
The Class of 2027 safety, nickel and athlete has established himself as a versatile playmaker through the first five weeks of the season. Gadison has recorded 32 tackles, five pass breakups, two forced fumbles, one interception returned for a touchdown, one blocked PAT and four total touchdowns.
But his ambitions extend well beyond individual production.
Gadison hopes to earn multiple Division I or high-level Division II scholarship opportunities while working toward All-Section recognition. He has also set ambitious season goals, including 75-plus tackles, eight takeaways, 35 receptions, 10 touchdowns and 650 all-purpose yards.
In the classroom, he is pursuing a GPA of 3.5 or higher, reflecting his commitment to developing as both a student and an athlete.
What drives him most, however, is the support he has received throughout his journey.
“What motivates me most is knowing that there are people who have believed in me and trusted me throughout my journey,” Gadison said. “Through all the changes and adversity I’ve faced, I’ve made the choice to make the most out of every situation and keep moving forward.”
That perseverance has become central to the player and person he wants to become. Gadison hopes to be a leader both on and off the field, make a positive impact in his community and become someone his family and others can look up to.
He also wants to build an identity around the No. 0 jersey, with the goal of inspiring future players to wear the number and understand what it represents to him.
Football remains at the center of that journey.
“I love this game with my whole heart,” Gadison said. “I’m a student of the game, and I’m grateful to God every day for giving me the opportunity to wake up and play the beautiful game of football.”
With aspirations of playing at the collegiate level, Gadison understands that his next opportunity could take him anywhere. Wherever that destination may be, his mindset will remain the same.
“I truly believe I have what it takes to play at the next level,” he said. “Wherever that opportunity takes me, I’m going to embrace it, make the most of it and give everything I have to succeed for my teammates, coaching staff, the school and myself.”
For George “Pop” Gadison Jr., every tackle, touchdown and challenge represents another step toward something bigger — proving that perseverance, faith and consistent work can create opportunities both on and off the field.
