For Hefner Pollins, motivation starts with the examples set at home. The Destiny Christian Jr. Lions eighth grader draws inspiration from his father’s perseverance and his oldest brother’s leadership as he builds his own path in football and the classroom.
A member of the Class of 2031, Pollins plays running back and free safety. He recently received an invitation to the 2027 All American Exposure Bowl Game in Orlando, Florida, giving him another opportunity to compete and continue developing his game.
His accomplishments extend beyond football. Pollins is on the honor roll with a 3.6 GPA, establishing an academic foundation as he prepares for high school.
Looking ahead, he hopes to attend Destiny Christian Academy alongside his older brother, Billionaire Pollins. His long-term ambitions include playing college football and eventually reaching the NFL, with his faith remaining central to that pursuit.
For Pollins, his father’s ability to persevere through challenges has made a lasting impression. He admires the way his dad continues to guide, protect and provide for the family, regardless of what he has faced.
One message, in particular, has become more meaningful as Pollins has grown older.
“He always tells me, ‘I’m hard, son, because life is hard,’” Pollins said. “At first I didn’t get it, but as I got older, I totally understand.”
His oldest brother, Jabar Pollins Jr., provides another example he wants to follow.
“He leads by example,” Pollins said. “That gives me something to reach for.”
With an honor roll record, an invitation to compete in Orlando and clear goals for the future, Pollins has plenty to work toward. As he prepares for the next stage of his education and football career, he carries his faith and his family’s example with him.
