Isaiah Villongco, an eighth grader at Leroy Greene Academy in Natomas, is a rising two-way lineman with big goals on and off the field.
Playing right guard and defensive tackle for DCA’s 14U team, Villongco is in his second season of tackle football and says he loves every snap. Defensively, he averages one sack and three tackles per game, helping anchor the line while continuing to develop his skills.
His commitment to the game has already earned him spots on the NCal Sac All Stars, Islands Best and Grid Iron Warriors. He is also a quarterfinalist in the Athlete of the Year contest.
Villongco’s work extends beyond football. A student with a 3.75 GPA, he balances academics with practice and extra training. His ambitions include becoming a registered nurse, giving him another meaningful goal to work toward alongside his athletic development.
Away from the field, family and faith help keep him grounded. When he is not training, Villongco spends time with his family or attends church, where he has found a strong community of believers.
His next steps are clear. Villongco hopes to attend DCA for high school, represent the program and graduate with the Class of 2031. From there, he wants to continue playing football in college and beyond.
Still early in his football journey, Villongco is building a foundation through his commitment to the classroom, his teammates and his future. With family, faith and ambitious goals behind him, he has plenty to keep working toward.
