Knox Figueroa is not waiting for the opening tip to set high expectations. The Destiny Christian Academy power forward is entering basketball season with a clear goal: help his team go undefeated.
At 6-foot-5, Figueroa brings size to the frontcourt and an eagerness to get the season underway. While the games have yet to begin, his excitement and confidence are already evident.
“I am ready for the season to start and ready to go undefeated,” Figueroa said.
An undefeated season is an ambitious target. Reaching it takes more than a strong start—it requires consistent effort, trust between teammates and the ability to respond when an opponent puts a team under pressure. Every matchup presents another challenge, and even a single difficult quarter can test that pursuit.
For a power forward, contributing to that kind of team success can mean making an impact in several ways. Rebounding, defending around the basket and creating opportunities for teammates are all important responsibilities at the position. As Destiny Christian Academy begins its season, Figueroa will have the opportunity to show how he can contribute in the frontcourt.
His goal puts team success at the center of the conversation. Rather than naming an individual scoring target or personal award, Figueroa pointed to what he wants Destiny Christian Academy to accomplish together.
The results will come one game at a time. For now, Figueroa is ready for the chance to compete and he has his sights set on a season without a loss.
