For LJ Lee Jr., the next chapter of football already has a destination: Folsom High School. But the Class of 2031 running back and strong safety is making his mark now, helping lead the undefeated Folsom Jr. Midgets while building toward the goals ahead.
This season, LJ has recorded seven touchdowns and more than 300 rushing yards. His speed, athletic ability and dedication have also earned him recognition at football camps throughout Northern California, adding to his experience as he continues developing his game.
Behind that progress is a foundation built with guidance from former coach and mentor Keith Toston, a former NFL running back. LJ credits Toston with helping shape his early development through lessons in fundamentals, work ethic and preparation.
Those lessons continue to influence LJ’s approach to football. As he gains experience, the tools his mentor helped establish remain an important part of his growth.
LJ plans to attend Folsom High School, where he hopes to develop further and help the Bulldogs compete for another state championship. It is an ambitious goal for a young player, and one that gives his work today a clear direction.
His plans extend beyond high school. LJ aspires to play Division I college football while majoring in psychology, combining his athletic ambitions with an academic path that interests him.
For now, his focus remains on contributing to the Folsom Jr. Midgets and continuing to improve. Seven touchdowns, more than 300 rushing yards and an undefeated start have given him something to build on.
With a mentor’s lessons behind him and long-term goals ahead, LJ is writing the opening chapter of a football journey he hopes will carry him through Folsom and onto a college campus.
