Class of 2027 defensive tackle and right guard brings physicality on both sides of the ball while playing for the family that helped him reach this point.
Marcelino Tausinga understands that success in the trenches is often built on the work that does not always make the highlight reel.
The Destiny Christian Academy Class of 2027 standout has embraced that responsibility, contributing at both defensive tackle and right guard while establishing himself as a productive presence on each side of the football.
Defensively, Tausinga has recorded 17 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks, consistently finding ways to disrupt opposing offenses from the interior. On the other side of the ball, his physical approach has translated to eight pancake blocks at right guard.
But for Tausinga, his motivation extends well beyond statistics.
Family remains at the center of his journey. Tausinga credits the sacrifices made by those closest to him for giving him the opportunity to be where he is today, and that support continues to fuel the way he approaches football and his future.
His connection with his family is something he wants people to understand about him away from the field as well. He takes particular pride in the relationship he shares with his nieces and nephews, carrying the people closest to him as a constant source of motivation.
That motivation accompanies an ambitious set of goals for Tausinga and Destiny Christian Academy. He wants to help the program complete an undefeated season, capture a section championship and ultimately compete for a state title.
For Tausinga, those goals are about more than individual recognition. They represent an opportunity to reward the people who have invested in him and contribute to something bigger than himself.
As his junior season continues, Tausinga is building his résumé from the inside out one tackle, one block and one opportunity at a time.
