Often considered the toughest sprint on the track, the 400m demands both speed and endurance. So far this season, several elite athletes have set the standard with times separated by just fractions of a second.
Here’s a look at the current top three performers in the boys 400m across Northern California.
1. Brandon Arrington – 46.51 (Mount Miguel)
Mount Miguel’s Brandon Arrington currently leads the way with a blazing time of 46.51. His combination of raw speed and strength has helped him take the top spot on the NorCal leaderboard as the season continues to unfold.
2. Noah Smith – 46.55 (Long Beach Poly)
