Class of 2029 running back and outside linebacker Sean Gaston is already gaining valuable varsity experience early in his high school career, establishing a foundation he hopes will lead to bigger things in the seasons ahead.
Gaston has recorded 125 rushing yards on 39 carries, averaging 3.2 yards per attempt. While still early in his high school career, the young running back has already earned an opportunity to start at the varsity level experience that can prove valuable as he continues to develop his game.
For Gaston, the focus now is on building upon that early production and becoming a more impactful player as the season progresses. He has set a personal goal of reaching 500 rushing yards this season, giving him a clear benchmark to work toward each week.
His role, however, extends beyond the offensive side of the football.
Gaston also lines up at outside linebacker, making him a two-way contributor who is continuing to develop on both sides of the ball. Playing running back and linebacker demands physicality, discipline and an understanding of the game from two different perspectives. The opportunity to receive varsity snaps at both positions gives Gaston valuable experience as he continues to grow as a player.
As a member of the Class of 2029, Gaston still has significant time ahead of him in his high school career. His early varsity experience provides an opportunity to learn against older competition while continuing to develop physically and refine the details of his game.
Behind his goals is a motivation that goes beyond individual statistics.
Gaston points to his family as one of his biggest sources of motivation, with the desire to better their lives helping drive the work he puts into football. That motivation, combined with the goals he has established for himself, gives the young two-way player something to continue building toward.
With a 500-yard rushing goal in front of him and varsity experience already coming his way, Gaston’s next step is about continued development and production.
For the Class of 2029 running back and outside linebacker, the foundation is being built now one opportunity at a time.
