Terron “TJ” Tagger has a clear goal for the season ahead: help Luther Burbank High School compete for a section championship.
The Class of 2028 guard brings an accomplished sophomore résumé into that pursuit. Playing point guard and shooting guard, Tagger averaged 20 points, three rebounds and two assists per game during league play, earning First Team All-League honors.
His scoring was a highlight of that production, with his rebounding and assists adding to his contributions. The recognition marked an accomplishment in his high school career and gives him a strong foundation to build on at Burbank.
For Tagger, basketball also represents an opportunity beyond high school. His goal of playing at the collegiate level is a major source of motivation as he continues his career. Reaching that next level remains part of his vision, while his immediate focus is on what he hopes to accomplish with his team.
“I want everyone to know I’m chasing a section title this year,” Tagger said.
That statement puts a team achievement at the center of his ambitions. After a season that brought individual recognition, Tagger hopes to add a championship run to his story at Luther Burbank.
The challenge ahead is to build on his sophomore production while pursuing that goal. With First Team All-League honors already on his résumé and college basketball in his sights, Tagger enters the next chapter of his high school career with something specific to chase: a section title for Burbank.
