Jazelle Reed-Johnson needed just one year at Folsom High School to earn a varsity sprint championship and establish herself as the school’s fastest freshman girl in the 100 meters, according to her supplied athletic background. Now a Class of 2029 sophomore, the four-time AAU Track & Field All-American is adding to a résumé that stretches across track, basketball and flag football.
Her success began well before high school. Reed-Johnson has competed at the Junior Olympics since seventh grade. By eighth grade, she had recorded a 12.38-second 100 meters and a 59-second 400 meters, bringing national competition experience into her freshman season.
She quickly made her mark against varsity competition. At the 2026 Sierra Foothill League Championships, Reed-Johnson won the girls’ varsity 100-meter title in 12.37 seconds. She also finished fourth at the Sacramento Meet of Champions, running a wind-assisted 12.21 seconds.
Those performances made her freshman year memorable, but track tells only part of her story.
During the 2025–26 junior varsity basketball season, Reed-Johnson scored 406 points. That production followed a middle school career that included multiple basketball MVP awards and recognition as Mills Middle School’s 2025 Female Student Athlete of the Year.
On the flag football field, Reed-Johnson earned First Team All-SFL honors at receiver for the 2025–26 season. Her supplied sophomore-season statistics show 1,582 total yards through 13 varsity games—1,175 receiving, 224 passing and 183 rushing—for an average of 121.7 yards per game.
Reed-Johnson reports that she is currently leading the section in yardage. With contributions as a receiver, runner and passer, her impact reaches several parts of Folsom’s offense.
Each sport has added something distinct to her record: national recognition on the track, scoring production on the court and all-league honors on the football field. Together, those accomplishments show the range of an athlete who has already achieved plenty with much of her high school career still ahead.
