Wayne Zion Battle is putting together a productive season at Destiny Christian Academy while working toward goals that extend beyond the next game. A running back and defensive back, Battle has scored eight touchdowns this season and holds a place in MaxPreps’ national JV rushing-yard rankings.
His contributions come on both sides of the ball, but the rushing totals offer a measure of what he has accomplished offensively. For Battle, those numbers are a starting point as he looks to keep improving and help his team succeed.
Battle has already experienced championship success in both football and baseball. Now, he hopes to add a state football championship to that background. It is a goal that connects his individual development with something he wants to accomplish alongside his teammates.
Looking further ahead, Battle hopes to earn college offers. His focus is on continuing to develop his game and putting in the work to create those opportunities. He wants to prove what he can accomplish, with that ambition extending to his life away from competition.
Eight touchdowns and a spot in the national JV rushing rankings give Battle something to build on this season. At Destiny Christian, his next goals remain clear: become a better player, contribute to a winning team and work toward another championship.
