For Wyatt Haddix, stronger competition is a reason to work harder. The Class of 2031 athlete has embraced the opportunity to prove himself with the Folsom Jr. Bulldogs, bringing speed, versatility, and a commitment to improvement to the program’s Midget team.
A starting slot receiver who also starts on special teams, Haddix reports four touchdowns so far this season, including two kickoff returns for scores. He describes himself as the fastest player on his team and has contributed on both sides of the ball, giving him multiple ways to make an impact.
Those contributions come as Haddix adjusts to a new competitive environment. After previously playing at the Division 6 level, he chose to challenge himself at Division 1 with Folsom, where he is working to earn his place.
“I am not afraid of hard work, and I am excited for my future in Folsom,” Haddix said.
The move has given him another source of motivation. Being surrounded by talented players has strengthened his desire to improve and show his teammates and coaches what he can contribute. For Haddix, earning an opportunity means continuing to put in the effort, even as the expectations rise.
His goals extend into the classroom, where he is focused on maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Alongside academic success, he wants to make a positive impression within the program and continue preparing for his eventual high school career.
“I pray I stand out among the incredible talent Folsom has to offer,” he said.
Supporting those ambitions is a family Haddix credits with encouraging him in everything he does. Their support gives him a foundation as he takes on new challenges and builds toward his future.
With scoring contributions on offense and special teams, Haddix has already found ways to help his team. His focus now is on continuing to earn his role, develop his abilities, and make the most of the competition that brought him to Folsom.
